Demo on Lulu & Po

So after searching northern brooklyn for quite some time, we got this little space in Fort Greene that used to be a place called ABistro. It was a beloved spot in the neighborhood for 7 years, and recently moved up to a larger space on De Kalb.  We spotted a photo on brownstoner just when we were despairing at finding the right spot, and zoomed in on the photo so we could call the number on the hand written sign on the window - what luck that we got there first!

We took over the space in January and the new name is Lulu & Po. After Lucy my daughter and Po my wife. I have been trying to make this move back to brooklyn professionally since we moved to the neighborhood in 2004 - we love it here, our daughter goes to school blocks away, and it felt so wrong to leave everyday to go cook in manhattan.  We just started demo and want to share the experience with you. Here are some photos from the start of the project.
